Welcome to Jade Dragon Martial Arts and Nei Gong Academy
“I have studied Shaolin Martial Arts along with Daoist Internal Arts for 35 years. In that time I have had the privilege of studying under some amazing Masters with direct lineage at the highest levels of their practice. Because of this I have been able to put together this system of Martial Arts, Internal Arts and Self Mastery practice that is second to none!”

What we teach..

Shaolin Five Ancestor Fist
Our primary practice is Shaolin Five Ancestor Fist (AKA-Wuzu Quan or Ngo Cho Kun). Five Ancestor Fist is a Shaolin Southern Style practice that was developed in the Fujian Province (Debatably at the Shaolin Fujian Temple?). The style combines the primary characteristics of White Crane, Lohan Fist, Taizu Quan, Monkey Fist and the internal arts of Damo. We place the heaviest emphasis on the forms, applications and training methods of White Crane (Feeding Crane and Calling Crane) and Southern Shaolin Lohan Fist (Incense Shop Boxing). But, we also have ample practice in the power and application of Taizu Quan and the quickness, toughness and agility of the Monkey Style. We begin teaching the internal practice at beginner level 2.

Taoist Martial Arts

Tai Chi Chuan
We teach the traditional Yang Style Tai Chi. Our lineage is from the CMC and Huang Xingxiang schools. The class can be purchased online and will be taught in educational pods and supported by me with email and/or through our upcoming Facebook and community groups. Each pod will build on the previous pod and will give detailed instruction on the form, the ten essential points of Yang Chen Fu, the eight separate jings, push hands and many other deeper practices of Tai Chi. The first form you learn will be the CMC 37 posture set. Later learning will be the 108 posture long form along with Tai Chi Sword and Tai Chi Sabre. Tai Chi is an amazing martial art but is probably more well known for it's ability to reduce stress and increase health. It helps with focus, clarity and a sharp mind.

Xing Ie Chuan/Baguazhang
Within our Martial Art curriculum at JDMAA, the first internal art we teach is Xing Ie Chuan. There are some practical reasons for this. First, it is energetically the easiest to develop. The power manifestation is not as nearly complex as that of Tai Chi Chuan or Baguazhang. It also has many aspects that are very helpful with developing internal power that feed incredibly well into the Five Ancestor Fist style. We teach this at proficiency level 12 (equivalent to 2nd degree black sash) Baguazhang is an amazing internal martial art and internal practice. Literally defined as the eight trigram palm method it employs eight separate palm changes in its practice. However, what is not taught very often is the tremendous internal practice that is employed within this martial art. At JDMAA we teach the complete practice of Baguazhang. This includes ALL of the peripheral training that allows for the development of the necessary internal qualities that make this such an effective martial art as well as an INCREDIBLE internal practice!

Nei Gong/Qigong
I have studied Qigong and Neigong practices for over 30 years. early on, much of it was basic Shaolin Qigong practices such as Ba Duan Jin and multiple meditation levels. These are very sound practices and have tremendous benefits for individual health and wellness. However, in 2008 I started studying the Northern Daoist Longmen internal practices. From this practice I have devised the Neigong curriculum that I teach with both JDMAA and with my students/clients at SynerG Coaching and Wellness. It is a profoundly deep practice and is built in a very pragmatic way. It requires the practitioner to build very specific internal qualities that help lead to the development of the next higher level qualities and so on. This practice has incredible implications in terms of health, wellness, strength, longevity, mental clarity and more. It is a part of the JDMAA curriculum and can also be learned as a stand alone.

Self Mastery
The best explanation for Self Mastery goes something like this. There is only one area of control that is in your hands. These are the things about you that make you the person you are or can be. These are things about you that nobody in this world can access. Self-mastery is about exploring, observing and learning about these things. Once you have that understanding, you can make better decisions and respond to life, and to others, with clarity and understanding. You can find stability in an unstable world. You are better equipped to manage your personal wellness. But there is more. It is about building your best life possible through a disciplined process that includes heightened awareness and strengthening your mind, body and spirit through a specific course of daily practice. Through the techniques in Self Mastery that we teach, coupled with utilizing the Five Pillars of Longevity, you will live a life that is balanced, healthy, full of energy and wellness.
